Music

Music and DVD presentations

Music can often express our emotions and feelings in a way that our own words cannot. As a medium for the act of remembrance music can have a powerful effect on those present at the funeral service. There are some important factors you should consider when choosing music for a funeral service.

  • Music has a different meaning to each and every one of us.
  • Listen to the lyrics carefully -you may be surprised by what they say.
  • Remember that three minutes can be a very long time to listen to music in the setting of a funeral.

It may be a good idea to have a compilation of music to play before the funeral, as well as a piece for a period of reflection during the service and a piece at the end of the service.

You may wish to include hymns or other ceremonial music.

Whatever your choice your funeral director will have a number of suggestions and at Morris & Morris we have a complete catalogue of recorded music as well as a fully functioning pipe organ.
